Yes. The holder of a certificate must make an application in writing at the SME Registration Unit to change:

(a) the Business Address of the SME and/or

(b) nature of the Business activity in relation to which the registration certificate was issued.

SME Mauritius ltd shall finance a maximum of 80% of the project up to a threshold that depends on the Category you are in. Our Schemes are:

​You should be a duly registered SME (Holder of SME Certificate)

You must have been preferably in operation for at least 6 months from the date of issue of BRN.

You should be engaged in any legal value creating economic activity except pure trading enterprises (e.g: import, retail sales, real estate agents, dealer in motor vehicles, and victuallers).

Note:

1. For a company, a minimum of 40% of the shares should be held by a Mauritian National.

2. An entity is not eligible to apply twice within the same financial year and a cooling off period for six months after date of the last disbursement is required.

3. An entity having a director/shareholder who has already benefited from SME Schemes under a different entity is not eligible to apply during the same financial year and a cooling off period for six months after date of the last disbursement.

4.​ An ent​ity having a director/shareholder whose spouse/household has already benefited from SME Schemes is not eligible to apply within the same financial year and a cooling off period of six months after date of the last disbursement .

The grant value that you are eligible for is dependent on which category you are in and this is decided based on two parameters;

(a) Number of Full time employees for whom CSG is contributed.

(b) Sales/Turnover/

- The total grants within a specific scheme or across schemes are capped to a maximum of Rs 250,000. Each category and sub-component has its own ceiling defined by turnover and number of employees.

- The beneficiary will pay a minimum of 20% of the approved itemised and detailed project cost.

No, all payments are effected through cheques directly to suppliers or service providers.​

No, the service provider will be chosen by the Beneficiary. He shall not in any way be related to or have interest in the business of the beneficiary. Any conflict of interest will lead to the immediate cancellation of the scheme.

Eligibility if you are a Registered SME:

The Employer should:

· Be duly registered with the SME Registration Unit;

· Be in operation for at least six months;

· Not engage in pure Trading activities.

Are you an Unemployed Graduate/Diploma Holder?

Eligibility if you are an Unemployed Graduate/Diploma Holder:

Applicants should hold at least a first degree/Diploma from a recognized tertiary education provider

What is the monthly stipend for Graduates?

Graduates: Rs 14,000

The employer pays only the monthly traveling costs of the Graduate and/or Diploma holders.

The provisions regarding payment of NSF and NPF will not apply in respect of graduates/Diploma holders participating in the SME Employment Scheme.

What is the monthly stipend for Diploma Holders?

Diploma holders: Rs 10,000

The employer pays only the monthly traveling costs of the Graduate and/or Diploma holders.
